Registration (without lodging)

The program fee for the Summer Writers’ Conference is $2,000 for the week. Registration covers participation in all seminars, panel discussions, evening readings, and a one-on-one manuscript session. Program fee doesn't include travel & lodging.

    By registering for MVICW's Summer Writers' Conference, you agree that you have read and accept our MVICW Code of Conduct, COVID Policy, & Release Form as well as our Cancellation Policy.

  • Cancellation Policy

    If cancelled by April 10th: We will retain $60 of your deposit to cover the cost of processing fees; the rest will be returned in full.
    If cancelled by April 25th: 50% reimbursement of registration. Due to limited space, we are only able to refund lodging if the room is rebooked by another attendee. 
    If cancelled by May 10th: 25% reimbursement of registration cost. Due to limited space, we are only able to refund lodging costs if the room is rebooked by another attendee.
    After May 10th: We will no longer be able to offer refunds on registration due to limited space and budgeting. We are only able to refund lodging costs if the room is rebooked by another attendee.

     

    If you are an attendee who has tested positive for COVID-19 in the weeks leading up to the conference, we ask that you immediately notify us and not attend the conference. Read our Covid Policy here. In the event we are able to offer a refund, it may take up to three weeks to receive a credit in your account.

  • Manuscript Info

    In addition to attending the MVICW Summer Writers’ Conference, you can receive a 45-minute one-on-one editorial feedback session to focus on your poetry, fiction, or creative non-fiction. 
     

    During your session, you will:

    • Receive individualized feedback on your manuscript
    • Get advice from award-winning authors/poets
    • Be able to ask questions about various craft elements
    • Find out about the process of seeking publication for your work​


    Manuscript Guidelines:
    For prose (fiction or CNF): submit a single prose piece of up to 15 double-spaced pages (12-point standard font/margins).
    For poetry: submit up to 3-4 poems with a max page count of 8 pages or less.

     

    Note: If your manuscript submission exceeds our guidelines, we will submit either the first 15 pages of your prose submission or the first 3-4 poems of your poetry submission to our Visiting Writer.
