2027 Summer Writers Conference Registration
The program fee for the Summer Writers’ Conference is $2,000 for the week of your choice. Attendees choose two generative workshops classes a day; attend evening readings from visiting faculty; a seminar on publishing and editing; a panel discussion with the faculty; and have the opportunity to share their work during the attendee reading celebration at the end of the week. The base registration fee does not cover travel, lodging, or food on the island.
Lodging Information
MVICW is pleased to offer affordable lodging options for the duration of the conference, both at our event space and in shared cottages located within a 10-minute walk of the seminars. Lodging options are first-come, first-served and include:
- A Private Ensuite Room (includes an attached private bathroom): $1275
- A Private Room (without an ensuite bathroom): $1075
- A Double Room (shared with one other attendee): $875
- A Triple Room (shared with two other attendees): $675
Housing assignments will be determined based on information provided in the housing/roommate survey. All lodging options include access to a shared kitchen, shared bathrooms, and laundry facilities. Linens and towels are provided.

One-on-One Editorial Session Info
Editorial Feedback Sessions are available as a $200 add-on to your registration and includes a 45-minute one-on-one, in-person consultation with one of our Visiting Writers. You are able to submit an excerpt of prose or poetry following these guidelines:

For prose (fiction or CNF): submit a single prose piece of up to 15 double-spaced pages (standard 12 pt font, 1-inch margins, Times New Roman).

For poetry: submit up to 3-4 poems with a max page count of 8 pages or less (standard 12 pt font, Times New Roman).
During the session you'll receive individualized feedback and advice on what you submitted as well as be able to ask questions about craft elements or the process of seeking publication. When you upload your excerpt, there will be a place where you can give a brief summary of the piece as well as specify what you would like the focus of the session to be.
The fee is non-refundable and the submission is due by end of day April 1st. WWe are not able to accept late submissions, and missing the deadline does result in a non-refundable loss of payment since spaces are limited and reserved at the time of registration.-

Cancellation Policy
Cancellations made before April 1st are eligible for a full refund of registration and lodging fees, less a $300 non-refundable deposit.
Cancellations made on or after April 1st are eligible for a 50% refund of registration and lodging fees, provided we are able to fill your vacated spot. If we are unable to fill your spot, the payment is non-refundable and cannot be applied toward a following year. No exceptions.
One-on-One Editorial Feedback Sessions are non-refundable, as spaces are limited and reserved at the time of registration.

If you are an attendee who has tested positive for COVID-19 in the weeks leading up to the conference, we ask that you immediately notify us and not attend the conference. Read our Covid Policy here. In the event we are able to offer a refund, it may take up to three weeks to receive a credit in your account.
